Philosophy of Teaching
Every child can learn, and all children want to learn and succeed. As a teacher it is my responsibility to help ensure that each child reaches his/her fullest potential. I recognize that each student brings with him/her different life experiences, which are not left outside the classroom but help to enhance that student’s learning. As an educator, I have learned to adapt to my student’s needs, abilities, disabilities, and learning styles as best as I possibly can. In addition, I strive to maintain a positive working relation with parents and to use all available resources at the school and in the community to help maximize their potential. Keeping these items in mind helps me create an effective learning environment for my students. |

Brief BioI was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, an area of coastal plains mesquites and palm trees. After college, I moved back home and began teaching at Moody High School; thankfully, my first teaching experience was good experience and I had the encouragement of a former teacher and an awesome mentor teacher. I lived briefly in Lubbock, Texas, where indeed the tumble grass does blow. In 2003, my husband and I moved to the Tyler area where unlike Lubbock there are plenty of beautiful trees. We love to visit Corpus, but we love the East Texas foliage.
